Domestic violence remains a persistent and worsening issue in Baja California and throughout the country. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has reported that three violent individuals have been formally charged and linked to trial for acts of aggression against women and/or family members—clear evidence of the social crisis affecting both the state and the nation.
Domestic violence has become a huge social problem, many women are hurt and even murdered every year, victimized by their own relatives or «significant others»
The first suspect in these domestic violence cases, Rubén “N”, was formally charged for a violent incident that occurred on September 27th in a house located in the Nacionalista neighborhood. He entered the residence without permission and struck the victim (a family member or partner—unspecified in the official statement) in the face, causing serious injuries. This was not the first time he had assaulted the victim in such a manner.
Another case involves Víctor Manuel “N”, who exhibited violent and aggressive behavior on the same day, September 27th, in a house in the Prohogar neighborhood. The suspect insulted his younger sister in a violent manner and then threatened her with a knife. This was also not the first time the unstable man had attacked his own sister.
The third suspect, Rogelio “N”, was arrested for events that took place on September 28th in a house in Ejido Guerrero, where he allegedly attacked his own brother violently. The incident was reported to emergency number 911, which allowed authorities to intervene in time, prevent the assault, and ensure the safety of the victim.
The Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Mexicali, through the Western Detained Offenders Investigation Unit and the Guadalupe Victoria Satellite Unit, reported that the three men have been formally linked to trial on charges of domestic violence.
