Once again, people who choose to become migrants and try to enter the United States illegally, seeking opportunities their home country cannot offer, fell victim to «coyotes» or «polleros» who deceive and kidnap them, conforming a dreadful fate for many people who want to enter the USA in order to seek for opportunities they lack in their own countries, winding up dead or imprisoned, this time the FESC (State Police) rescued them.

Twenty migrants, kidnapped and held in a house in Tijuana, were rescued by agents of the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) responding to an anonymous tip received through the 089 hotline. They were patrolling the border area with the United States as part of Operation «ESPEJO,» coordinated in conjunction with the U.S. Border Patrol.

For several days, the arrival of people at a house on Sebastián Arteaga Street, between Paseo Picasso and José Clemente Orozco Street, in the Nueva Tijuana neighborhood, was noticeable. The report indicates that the situation worsened when women began screaming for help and saying they were hungry.

When interviewed, the individuals stated that their intention was to cross into the United States and that they had been detained there for several days without any explanation for their situation.

They also indicated that two young men were guarding them. When asked if they required medical attention, they stated they did not, but expressed feeling very hungry. Food and drinks were provided while the agents conducted their interviews. Finally, the group of 20 people was transferred to the facilities of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to be placed at their disposal as victims of the crime of human trafficking.
