Los Cabos reopened touristic activities at 30% of its whole capacity, on June 15th after COVID19 crisis: BCS Tourism Secretary

Reopening economic activities after the COVID19 crisis, is a big challenge for Los Cabos, according to the Tourism Board, health safety protocols will be strict, with a color coded classification for hotels, restaurants, bars, tour operators and other services, a process that supposedly started as of June 15.

The aforementioned protocols and color code will determine the level of safety for each business and will be based on capacity and human density as well as the establishments compliance with the social distancing parameters that have been previously announced by Baja California Sur government.

“The touristic industry of Baja Sur is back. We have returned with more strength, commitment and determination to consolidate, once again, as a quality destination, healthy and safe at an international level”, said Tourism Secretary, Luis Humberto Araiza Lopez, in a virtual press conference where he announced that touristic activities will reopen in Los Cabos and the rest of the State almost three months after the forced halt due to the COVID19 crisis.

Activities will be gradually reopening according to the protocols and at 30% of its whole operational capacity, the expectations is to advance and, following the health and safety protocols thus increasing the percentage and retake Los Cabos position as one of the most important touristic destinations in the world, a place that combines the desert and the beach, and attracts celebrities from all over the world.

Air traffic to Los Cabos will get a big boost on July 4th when the first direct flight from New York´s JFK Airport is scheduled to arrive, and expectations are high for touristic activity to increase during the Sumer and Fall seasons.
