Víctor Abraham “N”—the alleged killer of a jeweler at a Mexicali shopping center—was arrested and claimed to belong to «Los Rusos,» a criminal group linked to the «Los Mayitos» cartel. He demonstrated great skill in handling firearms, according to a video shown by State Attorney General María Elena Andrade Ramírez during a press conference announcing the arrest.
The Attorney General showed a video in which a subject enters carrying a plastic bag, appearing to be a customer; a second subject then enters and shoots the jeweler in the head

Attorney General Andrade showed security camera footage from the shop, clearly revealing that the shooter had training in handling a pistol, evidenced by his stance and the way he held the weapon to fire directly at the victim’s head.
Observing how he held the weapon, his arm position, and the tilt of his head, one cannot help but think that Abraham did not intend to commit a robbery, but rather to execute the small business owner; however, according to the Attorney General, no further details can be provided at this time because… investigation is going on.
At the moment of the shot, the man who had entered the shop first threw himself to the floor, feigning the behavior of an ordinary customer; however, upon leaving, he took merchandise from the store. Together with the gunman, he got into a car where a third accomplice was waiting, and they fled the scene after leaving the jeweler lying on the ground.
The photos shown by the Attorney General reveal that the shooter was trained in handling weapons; furthermore, the fact that he fired directly at the business owner’s head suggests an execution carried out by a hitman rather than the «hasty» reaction of a common robber.
Yesterday afternoon, following a swift investigation by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), Abraham was arrested; however, the impression left by the evidence presented to the media by the prosecutor is that he intended specifically to kill the victim rather than commit a robbery—for, as one person put it, «a robber doesn’t shoot straight for the head or display that level of expertise in handling a weapon.»
