A large-scale mobilization of security forces took place in the Venustiano Carranza neighborhood in Mexicali following a report of a party at a residence where neighbors complained about loud music during the early morning hours.
According to the context of the events, the incident originated at a home where a party was being held. Security personnel arrived at the scene at approximately 8:00 a.m. after receiving complaints from nearby residents
Upon the officers’ arrival, attendees allegedly reacted aggressively, leading to a confrontation that escalated into gunfire directed at the officers. During the attack, a female police officer was injured, prompting an immediate security operation in the area.
Hours of tension unfolded in the Carranza neighborhood after what began as a noise complaint at 8:00 a.m. escalated into a series of events involving arrests, a pursuit, and a shooting. At the time of this report, the situation remained highly dangerous.
During the incident, armed individuals fired shots at the Venustiano Carranza police substation while a pursuit related to the same case was underway, further increasing the security presence in the area.
Public Security Director Luis Felipe Chan Baltazar provided an update from the scene, confirming that a coordinated operation had been deployed to locate those responsible and reinforce security. He stated that the investigation is ongoing and the situation remains active.
Additionally, a preventive evacuation of personnel was carried out at the police station located on Anáhuac Boulevard, known as “El Caracol,” as an operational measure due to the risks stemming from the incident.
Authorities continue to secure the property where the confrontation began while awaiting a search warrant that would allow them to enter and inspect the residence.
Unofficial reports suggest the possible presence inside the home of an alleged member of the criminal group known as “Los Rusos,” identified as “El Mike,” who is believed to be a key figure within the organization’s structure. He is reportedly linked to associates of “El 61,” considered a significant figure within the group.
Civilians were also present at the scene at the time of the incident, including musicians, families, and minors, which has kept the area under heavy security.

During coverage of the incident, a reporter from “La Crónica de Baja California” was allegedly threatened at gunpoint by a Municipal Police officer using a long firearm. The situation was later addressed by the department’s director, who reiterated respect for freedom of the press and stated that an internal report had been opened to investigate the officer’s actions
