Sunday February 22 in Jalisco, a Mexican West Coast State, hell broke loose when Mexican troops fought a fierce battle in the State´s mountain range in order to catch Mencho, one of the world´s most wanted criminals who died while he was being taken to Mexico City on an airplane fer a battle which also cost the lives of two of his closest captains.
Mencho was located through central military intelligence, according toa Press Release issued by DEFENSA (Mexico´s Army) in coordination and proper bilateral cooperation and complementary information provided by U.S. authorities
A military operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco, involving Mexican Air Force and the National Guard’s Immediate Reaction Special Forces on the ground, they delivered a decisive blow to the Cattel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), who carried out the attack and arrest of Rubén “N,” AKA “El Mencho.”
As they were approaching Mencho´s hideout, military personnel were attacked with high-caliber gunfire, sparking an intense firefight. Four members of the CJNG criminal group were killed at the scene, and three others died while being airlifted to Mexico City. Among them was “El Mencho.”
The arrest of “El Mencho” triggered a wave of violence in several states, placing the government of Claudia Sheinbaum under serious pressure
DEFENSA reported the seizure of high-powered weapons and armored vehicles, including rocket launchers to attack aircraft and destroy armored cars, showing the level of artillery capability the CJNG had developed while Mencho was in charge, which was about 15 years.
The streets of the two biggest cites in Jalisco, Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta are empty, people are staying home, as they await a response and an official statement from President Sheinbaum—not so much to announce the death of “El Mencho,” but to explain what really happened.
|There are videos all over the WEB and social media, several cities across the country are struggling amid the surge of violence from the CJNG Cartel triggered by this operation, according to several journalists and analysts there had never been a violent reaction as the one Mexico is living.

National Guard, State Police, Mexicali PD and soldiers were outside the FGR Mexico´s Department of Justice facilities, and incidents were mostly carried out against food trucks and other cars in the early morning and late afternoon, as of 8 PM there had been about 8 confirmed arson attacks in Mexicali.
Mencho’s death doesn´t mean the end of the CJNG, which remains alive and well, showing enough muscle to have Mexico subdued and under attack with violent assaults all over Mexico and the Secretary of Education informed schools will close Monday 23 February in Baja California, as well as other states, from kindergarten to College, public or private, some of them will have class online.
