Police officers and members of the Madres Unidas y Fuertes (United and Strong Mothers) a search collective which aims to locate people who have disappeared and which continued their search efforts on Monday, January 19, in the town of Miguel Alemán, in the Mexicali Valley
What they found, is regrettable and gruesome, it was the seventh clandestine grave in the area adding up to seventeen bodies have been found in these clandestine graves, within the past two or three weeks
The clandestine graves found in the Mexicali Valley are evidence of a serious social and public safety problem which goes hand in hand with organized crime and has cost several lives of people whom are not heard of again, a very serious problem that not only Baja California, but ll Mexico has been facing for years.
On the morning of Monday January 19th, members of the aforementiones search collective confirmed the discovery of a seventh grave in Miguel Alemán after a specific spot caught the attention of a K9 unit due to the heavy and gross stink in the area, which led them to infere there was a dead body in there.
Following the inspection, police personnel working at the site located human remains, thanks to the aforementioned intervention of the K9 unit, there have been several canine binomials working in the search of more clandestie graves and (hopefully not) more bodies
The area was secured, and forensic personnel were called in to recover the bodies. With this regrettable discovery, the number of clandestine graves found in the Miguel Alemán neighborhood and its surroundings has risen to seven, while the search and processing efforts continue by the authorities and collectives.
