State authorities work hard to repair damages caused by Hurricane Kay in San Felipe

The works to repair damages caused by Hurricane Kay in of San Felipe have started, said the Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Development and Territorial Reorganization (SIDURT), Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, who gave the announcement this weekend, and assured that San Felipe will be 100% functional very soon.

State Infrastructure Secretary is working hard to rehabilitate San Felipe most harmed areas, after Hurricane Kay passed thru the port leav9nv several damages behind,

He said that the works were ordered by Governor Marina del Pilar Avila and they consist of repairs in the area of ​​the boardwalk, construction and repair of ramps for anglers inside the Marina, removal of debris in the Fishing Field and repair of the rainwater damages to the road, on Caribbean Sea Avenue.

SIDURT has also undertaken improvement and repair works at the San Felipe International Airport with the reparation of the cross roads with the highway at kilometer 11, rehab of the perimeter fence and reinforcement of the embankment to protect the runway.

All these works to rebuild and leave all damages caused by «Kay» behind, is decisive for the port to recover its economic activity and for residents of San Felipe and tourists to have safe mobility and reliable roads and streets.

«With these works, security is given to the boardwalk, its accesses and the International Airport, since it is of great interest to continue providing tranquility to the community, and the tourists who visit us in this great port,» said Espinoza Jaramillo.
