In a hotel in Culiacán, Sinaloa, six people were arrested, including the alleged mastermind of the terrorist attacks on Friday, August 12, in Baja California, according to State Attorney General, Ricardo Iván Carpio Sánchez, who reported the events in a video last night.
He assured that, in the aforementioned site, the detainees had illicit drugs and that they fled in two vehicles, running away from Baja California to the Southwest of the country, among them there was an 18-year-old and other people over 30 years of age, they were allegedly trying to get to Jalisco after perpetrating the terrorist attacks last Friday August 12.
It seems strange that they stopped in Culiacán, where the Sinaloa cartel rules, since they supposedly belong to the Jalisco Cartel, but according to Carpio Sanchez: «In the face of the acts of violence, operational actions were carried out in order to locate and detain these people».
They add up to 17 others who had been sent to Mexico City on Sunday and among them was the alleged leader Luis Enrique aka «El Ñoño», 35 years old, along with him were also arrested Sara Isabel, 24, Juan José (34) , Jorge (32), Víctor Aldair aka “el Gusano” (The worm, 18) and Jonathan Raymundo (29).
In a video sent to the media, the detainees are set on board a National Guard aircraft and sent to CdMx, where it is still being discussed whether what happened in Baja California and other states of the country were terrorist attacks or not, in a topic which some federal officials and authorities have dismissed as “sensationalism and right-wing propaganda”.
