Hard wind gusts hit Mexicali Saturday night, same conditions expected by Sunday midnight, Red Flag Warning in Imperial County

After a very hard Saturday night, wind gusts of up to 35 miles an hour, which caused serious damage all over Mexicali, collapsing trees and poles, as well as billboards, authorities warned people to be ready for similar conditions today after midnight.

A Weather Alert issued by Mexicali City Hall communication department, stated that today after midnight, wind gusts of up to 30 miles an hour are expected, with high probability for electrical storms, so people are invited to remain alert and be prepared for probable blackouts.

There was also an RED FLAG warning issued by the Imperial Valley County, which will hold valid from August 7 at 8 PM to August 8 at 11 PM.
Trees were fallen in several points of the city, Municipal Parks workers struggled the most part of Sunday cleaning the mess, and same conditions are expected tonight after midnight.
