UABC Medical Science school has applied almost 6 thousand COVID19 tests mainly in Mexicali and Tijuana

The COVID19 diagnosis centers of the State University of Baja California (UABC), which works at the medicine school in Mexicali campus sand, the medicine and psychology school in Tijuana campus, have applied a total of 5 thousand 985 COVID detection tests, 2 thousand 713 in Mexicali and 3 thousand 272 in Tijuana.

UABC’s Vacation period began on July 1st, 2020, both detection centers are going to offer this service using samples from the Health Department. It’s important to say that the medicine school in campus Mexicali takes samples to the students and workers and they have collected 1285 tests.

These UABC’s covid19 diagnosis centers have a biosecurity level to handle and process samples to detect this disease, and it has very high recommendation from the COMMUNICABLE DISEASE CENTER in the United States, the PANAMERICAN HEALTH ORGANISATION setting level 2 biosecurity levels (bsl2).

This operation period will continue while the COVID19 health emergency lasts, according the collaboration agreement between UABC and Baja California health Department of the State.

The commitment and capability that the CIMARRONES had shown in this institutional projects that offers a lot of benefits for and from Baja California society, and more in these times that the virus SARS-COV-2 affects Mexico and the whole world.
