Due to an alleged involvement in the disappearance of the 43 students from the NORMAL SCHOOL (where the rural residents study to become community teachers) of Ayotzinapa, former Governor of Guerrero Ángel Aguirre was arrested on Thursday, August 6, in connection with this case in which the students from the Rural Teachers’ College of Ayotzinapa hijacked buses in 2014, according to a report from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).

PEÑA Nieto’s presidency was marked after the 43 students hijacked several buses; according to versions, one of the hijacked buses allegedly carried a shipment of opium, which could have been what caused members of a drug-trafficking gang (apparently the owners of the shipment) to kidnap them and make them disappear.
Social media erupted when the FGR announced that, after several years of investigations, Aguirre was considered allegedly responsible for concealing evidence that could have led to locating the missing students, and they managed to get a judge to authorize an arrest warrant against him.
However, many doubts and questions remain, including the alleged participation of José Luis Abarca, who at the time was Mayor of Iguala and who was also allegedly identified as one of those presumed responsible for the events in which these 43 students disappeared and surely died, although the latter has not been confirmed.
It is also worth highlighting the fact that neither López Obrador nor now the president has ever attended to the fathers, mothers, and relatives of these disappeared persons, in yet another of the great contradictions of the Fourth Transformation and the way in which the discourse is not consistent with the actions of both the current and former heads of government, and with the peculiar conduct of both.
