Four Top Notch Cartel members Arrested in Mazatlán and Zapopan, among them “Chapito”’s father-in-law and brother-in-law

Four alleged members of the Sinaloa Cartel, among them two Chapito’s in-law-relatives, were arrested in Mazatlán (Sinaloa) and Zapopan (Jalisco) in two operations carried out by agents of the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA), the Navy (SEMAR), the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), the National Guard (GN), and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

The two individuals arrested in Jalisco are the father-in-law and brother-in-law of one of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s sons; Iván Archivaldo, AKA Chapito, delivering a hard blow to the Sinaloa Cartel high hierarchies, and it is a breath of fresh oxygen for President Sheinbaum’s administration.

In Sinaloa, coordination among law enforcement agencies, and special forces from the Army and Navy led to the arrest of a man who is among the top members of the Sinaloa Cartel and was allegedly in charge of a criminal cell that was conformed by several “sicarios” (hitmen).

This Cartel leader’s criminal cell had three outstanding arrest warrants, he was detained during an operational deployment in Los Caracoles section of Mazatlán, law enforcement agents identified him while he was traveling in a vehicle with another person.

Officers pulled over the vehicle, carried out a search and found two firearms, 51 rounds of ammunition, a bag containing marijuana, radio and telephone communication equipment, as a result, the two men, aged 37 and 40, were arrested.

Another operation, this one in Jalisco, resulting from investigative leads, authorities located two houses in Zapopan, Jalisco where individuals linked to a criminal group were allegedly hiding, after gathering enough evidence, they submitted it to a Judge, who issued search warrants.

The inter-agency operation executed the warrants at two properties located in the Bajío and Vallarta Universidad sections of Zapopan, where two men, 44 and 69 years old were arrested, both were identified as financial operators of the Sinaloa Cartel and somehow related to Ivan Archivaldo Guzman AKA Chapito and then seized four firearms, drugs, three high-end vehicles, cell phones, and electronic equipment.
