CESPM starts works in Santa Catarina Creek to solve flooding problem in San Felipe´s high tides

SAN FELIPE: Public works aiming to keep rainwater off Santa Catarina Creek and prevent seawater intrusion during high tides, with an investment of 23 million 798 thousand pesos (a tad over one million dlls.) will be financed by the Mexicali State Public Services Commission (CESPM)’s a State Organism, and the floodgates are expected to be completed in about six months.

San Felipe Mayor, José Luis Dagnino López, staff from CESPM the City Council’s Chief of Works, the president of the port’s Fishermen’s Confederation, and the construction contractor, visited to the site in order to supervise the start of the project

This project is expected to provide a final solution to a long-standing flood problem that has affected residents, merchants, and users of the port of San Felipe, especially during the rainy season.
