Seven immigrants who had allegedly been kidnapped by three armed individuals, were rescued by Mexicali PD cops, near the border town of Los Algodones, in the northern part of the Mexicali Valley area, an incident that was reported at 6:37 a.m. on Tuesday November 19th, according to a press release issued by the Police Department.
In the early hours of last Tuesday, a U.S. Border Patrol unit informed the Mexican emergency center (C4) that they had observed several armed individuals forcing a group of people into a truck near the border fence, on the Mexican side of the border.
Mexicali PD officers, assigned to the northern Mexicali Valley, responded to the call and proceeded to search those people in the given location, upon arrival, they saw a black GMC Yukon SUV leaving the area and merging onto State Highway 8, they followed the vehicle and managed to intercept it near the Merida ejido.

With lights and sirens on, the officers ordered the driver to stop but he attempted to flee into the streets of the ejido (Valley small town), where the vehicle was finally intercepted when it was attempting to return to the highway, when it halted, ten people got out, seven of whom identified the other three as the ones who had forced them into the truck minutes earlier.
The officers searched the suspects and the vehicle, and they found a black Glock 17 pistol, caliber 9mm, with two loaded magazines, so they were arrested and taken to the Police Station in order to determine their legal situation and (most likely) will be sent to the State Attorney in order to arraign them.
The names of the alleged kidnappers and human trafickers are: Benito «N», 29 years old; José Alberto «N», also 29; and Omar Karim «N», 36, were arrested and taken to the DSPM facilities, where they were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities.
