Another journalist murdered in Mexico, his name was Mauricio Solís, a journalist from Michoacán, killed on Tuesday, October 29, in Uruapan, Michoacán, central Mexico, just minutes after he interviewed Mayor Carlos Manzo Rodríguez, around 9:30 PM October 29, another voice has been silenced amid hatred fostered «from somewhere» in Mexico has worked again.
An irresponsible demonization of journalism has led people, incited from high places of power, to hate journalists, accusing them of being sellouts and «accomplices» of the opposition. According to the former President of Mexico, they «enemies of the people,» influencing thousands of Mexicans over six years, lighting up a bonfire, where those who question the system are burned.
Since December 1, 2018, 43 journalists have fallen in Mexico, bringing the total to 167 journalists murdered so far in the 21st century
Figures make Mexican soil as dangerous as, or even more dangerous than countries at war. This is the result of the resentment many Mexicans feel towards journalism, driven by an official discourse that labels them as enemies of the government.
Journalists will continue to fall because, in many ways, they have always been «uncomfortable» for those in power, whether it be the PRIAN (as the leftists call them) or MORENA (as the «conservatives» say), who have always felt «attacked» by journalistic questioning. The result has been a series of assaults and murders, due possibly to indoctrination by someone very powerful against journalists.

Solís was the founder of the news portal Minuto x Minuto. After interviewing the Mayor and talking with local merchants affected by a fire, he discussed with the Municipal President the support measures for those affected by the emergency, which would be 10 million pesos to rehabilitate the market. Solís’s interview with the Mayor ended, and he left, but minutes later he was intercepted and shot dead, may he rest in peace.
