Mexicali PD cops, prevented a domestic violence from happening in Mexicali, they arrested a man who had allegedly beaten his wife, in a sudden outburst of rage which may have been fueled by alcohol or anther substance (s), according to a press release issued by the Mexicali PD (DSPM in Spanish), in a permanent effort to guarantee a life free of violence for families.
The arrest of Luis Valente “N”, 31 years old, supposedly for assaulting and battering his “better half”, was carried out by the municipal police who attended the scene.
The incident was reported to the emergency number 911, informing about an episode of domestic violence that was going on in the El Mezquital section of the city, where Municipal Police quickly arrived at the site and confirmed what was stated.
The victim told the officers that she was at home with her spouse, at which time, for no apparent reason, he behaved violently, beginning to carry out physical attacks; so, he pointed out the alleged perpetrator, who was still at the site.
Domestic violence is a really serious issue in Mexicali, where women are battered and beaten in an almost daily basis, a problem that has moved Mexicali PD to create a Special Task Force for Domestic Violence, in order to prevent and “attack” this serious problem.
Luis Valente was arrested and transferred to the Police Headquarters to continue with the corresponding legal procedures before the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), while the victim received comprehensive support at all times.
