Óscar Alberto Banda Manjarrez, AKA «La Puka», will spent the next twenty-five years in prison for a homicide committed as of August, 2021, according to a press release by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), through the Specialized Homicide Prosecutor who also stated that it was through an abbreviated procedure, (which means a deal for the accused) where he accepted his guilt in the murder that occurred in August 2021, in the Valle de Las Misiones subdivision, Mexicali.

Investigations revealed that as of August 19, 2021, «La Puka» went to the victim’s home on Jusai Avenue in the aforementioned neighborhood and asked him to accompany him to run some errands and they arrived at another house on Longueles Avenue

Two other people were waiting for them at the scene. Upon entering the house, they took the victim to a bedroom and beat him, causing multiple blows to the head, then they wrapped a hose and a cable around his neck, strangling him until he died.

After verifying that she was dead, “La Puka” and his accomplices tied his hands and ankles with cable and wire, and then buried his body in the backyard of the house. The body was located on August 24, 2021.

With this result, the State Attorney General’s Office reaffirms its commitment to integrate the investigation files, with solid elements to achieve convictions against people who commit this type of crime.
