At 6:30 in the morning on Tuesday, November 12, a very serious accident occurred, that seemed to be straight out of a movie, a man with alcohol intoxication and even maybe drugs, identified as Raimundo Daniel «N», was driving a Honda CRV on Río Nuevo Avenue, according to a report by the Mexicali Public Security Director (DSPM).
While driving southbound on Calzada de los Presidentes (Río Nuevo) at speeding and under the influence of booze, on the left lane, he did not stop when reaching the intersection with Jalisco Avenue, where he ran a red light.
Upon running the red light, the individual collided with a Nissan Versa, which had the right of way with a green light heading west. The Honda driver fled south on Calzada de los Presidentes until reaching the intersection with Anáhuac Boulevard, continuing the dramatic narrative of the DSPM.
At the intersection with Anáhuac, he once again ignored the red light and caused a spectacular crash with two other cars: a Toyota Yaris and a Chevrolet Beat, which were traveling southbound with the green light.
It was impossible for the driver to escape this time, and police units and paramedics arrived to attend to the drivers of the Toyota and Chevrolet, who were injured, while the Honda driver was detained and found to be intoxicated, Raimundo was detained and will be charged with several crimes which will surely keep him locked up for quite a long time.
