TIFFANY ABISH
THE BAJA POST/STAFF
Fernando Rivera Calderón presented La música del fuego, poetic anthology, at the International Book Fair FIL-UABC 2024, personally he represents the soundtrack of a time with my friend and sister Karla, listening to Palomazo Informativo, 15 or 20 years ago, I don’t know, Karla liked the album so much that it generated an anecdote that I will comment later.
Sincerely, I was late to her presentation, I missed it, so I can only talk about her interaction with a child who was her fan and an emotional scene, because I (an old person) am her fan, but a child of about 12 or 14 years old, is comforting for me, besides the large number of children and young people who attended the FIL-UABC 2024.

I liked knowing that Rivera Calderón would be at FIL-UABC 2024, because for me, he represents the restlessness of a life, musician, poet, crazy? in my opinion or perception, I even see him as a journalist, a kind of rebel minstrel, who expresses what he perceives and visualizes in various ways, but always with an intelligent sense of humor and I think that’s what captivated Karla and me.
Karla liked the album so much, that when her mom traveled to Mexico City around that time, it would be 2006 or 2007, she looked for the album, I don’t know where or how, Karla’s mom is a very eloquent and sociable person and told a cab driver who said he knew one of them and took her to his house, She waited in the cab and he came back with the disc, maybe it was the cab driver’s cab, or it was Fernando’s or Armando’s or Martin’s house, she never knew how to tell me, it is one of many urban legends of Karla, my friend and sister.
Hopefully soon we will have Fernando again in Chicali, he will bring some project (hopefully it will be musical) we will have to follow his trail in networks, to finish, I will quote the Palomazo Informativo, I do not know Fernando, Armando or Martin: «When there are guarantees there is no violence, when there are guarantees there is democracy», very much in line with the current times and hopefully I could see my friend and sister Karla more often, here I have the records.
