Sushi restaurant shut down in Mexicali after 30 cases of food poisoning reported

“The Mexicali’s Japanese food restaurant Sushillo was closed after the poisoning of around 30 people”, informed Guillermo Trejo Dozal, secretary of Health of Baja California.
The State Directorate against Sanitary Risks is investigating the case to determine what type of parasite caused the intoxication of dozens of people who became ill after eating there.

Trejo Dozal said that some patients were moved to hospitals in the United States after getting sick and they are receiving medical attention there.


“The information that people from a hospital in the United States that is treating some of these patients is that they had isolated salmonella and here inn Mexicali we are corroborating if that we are talking about a dangerous bacteria  known as escherichia coli.”

Both Salmonella and E. Coli are bacteria associated with feces.
