A few weeks after taking charge of the Education Secretary of Baja California, Miguel Angel Mendoza assured that the payment delay regarding interim teachers will start to being solved on March 31st with 65 million pesos down and the rest will be paid within a few weeks to reach the grand total of 91 million pesos, which is the total debt so far. Secretary Mendoza, in conference with the Mexicali Journalists Association (heded by Alma Rosa Burciaga) talked about several subjects relevant for education such as the values loss among the youth and the new technologies that migh well be allies or obstacles within the classroom. Nayarit State Attorney arrested in San Diego accused of alleged drug trafficking

Edgar Veytia, General Attorney of Nayarit was arrested in San Diego, California allegedly for introducing drugs to the USA. Since 2013 there had been accusations against him for drug trafficking, according to some reports, the arrest took p-lace last Monday and that day he was taken to the Federal Detention Center in San Diego. The current Attorney of Nayarit, accused for allegedly introducing drugs to the USA has been pointed out because of his alleged links to the New Generation Jalisco Cartel, and Nayarit Governor, Roberto Sandoval and the General Attorney of the Republic conf8irmed the detention. The Governor didn’t give any details he only said that Veytia can’t be declared guilty until a Jury Trial finds him guilty or innocent and he said he would cooperate with American authorities in this case...

Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries for journalists, and it was confirmed last Thursday March 28th in the early morning when an armed commando attacked the house of Julio Omar Gómez, crime reporter in Cabo San Lucas, shooting at his house and killing his bodyguard in the third attempt on his life. Preliminary reports say that between 3 and 4 o’clock in the morning the “hired triggers” broke into his house and the bodyguard confronted them and was shot dead by several guys. Julio transmitted news through Facebook 911, due to the attempts to kill him, he notified the General Republic Attorney and submitted himself to the Journalist Protection Program, so he was protected by federal authorities, because there had been two provoked fires in his house. The first fire happened on December 19th and the second one last February 8th after which the reporter decided to retire from journalism. This happened just a few days after a journalist was murdered in Veracruz, Ricardo Monlui Cabrera was killed while he was having breakfast  and had already been threatened, and chihuahua journalist Miroslava Breach was killed when she was taking her son to...
