SEDECO promoted business opportunities in Baja during CES 16 in Las Vegas

The Ministry of Economic Development of Baja California (SEDECO) participated in CES16, for its acronym in English, held in Las Vegas, Nevada 6 to January 8. CES is a global consumer electronics and consumer technology tradeshow that takes place every January in Las Vegas, Nevada with the aim of identifying opportunities for suppliers and also to pay a visit to the large multinational corporations Electronic Industry currently operating in Baja California.

The Secretary for Economic Development, Carlo Olache Bonfante said that as part of promotional efforts led by Governor Francisco “Kiko” Vega de Lamadrid, SEDECO will work with special emphasis on strengthening the presence in the state of big manufacturing firms, seeking to attract the foreign companies that provide service to those corporations already established in Baja and supporting the participation of local companies as suppliers.
He added that CES16 gathers industrial giants with a presence in the state, such as Panasonic, LG, Mitsubishi Electronics and Samsung among others, so they sought to strengthen the already established links and fortify communication channels.

The CES16 has represented a solid platform for innovative and cutting-edge technology for more than 40 consecutive years. In this edition more than 3,600 companies from 153 countries participated.
The main trends presented in this major event, emphasize the connectivity between home appliances and smart applications, ie, state-of-the-art cutting-edge technology to have total control of the house from the smartphone.

Bonfante Olache declared that the Baja California State Government will strengthen its presence and cooperation ties with companies and organizations in Arizona and Nevada to consummate capabilities and aim to establish a formal cooperation in the near future.

Finally, the head of SEDECO said that there is a calendar of participation in state, national and international events this year, according to the productive vocations. Besides working in coordination with promotion municipal agencies  and other business organizations to leverage the presence and optimize available resources.
