STATE GOVERNMENT STRENGTHENS BUSINESS IN SAN FELIPE BC WITH CREDITS AND COMPUTER EQUIPMENT

“To support productive activities and the formalization of small businesses in the coastal town of San Felipe Baja California, 26 computers were delivered to local businesses who are participating in the program known as “Formalízate“, which is implemented in coordination with the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (INADEM)” said Alfredo Babun Villarreal, Sub Secretary of Economic Development.

“Governor Francisco Vega de Lamadrid, has requested special attention to San Felipe because there is currently a decline in the fishing activity that has been carried out in order to restore wildlife populations in the local marine ecosystem,” the Official explained.

He said that the “Formalízate” program purpose is to facilitate the transition of “informal” businesses to formality, specifically to join the recently created “Tax Incorporation Regime” (Régimen de Incorporación Fiscal), and meet the new legal, technological and accounting requirements.

The “Formalízate” program includes computer equipment and training in billing and accounting, the cost of the program is 12,500 pesos, but support of 11,500 pesos is provided and therefore, the local enterpreneurs end up investing only 1,000 pesos.

All kind of local businesses are taking advantage of this program; shops, grocery stores, bakeries, beauty salons, gyms, car wash, arts & crafts, furniture and equipment rentals, restaurants, photography studios, etc.

The Secretary said that to participate companies must have at least 6 months in “formality”, join the Entrepreneurial Development Center, provide business information and then show proof of sales impact after participation in the program.

During the event an amount of $193,000 pesos were granted to three local companies, to strengthen their working capital and to acquire new equipment, the companies are: “Reparación de Celulares Cossío”, “Abarrotes Lizeth” and “Papelería 4 Hermanos”.

Finally, Babun Villarreal concluded saying that in order to request support for productive activities at the port, those interested must go to the offices of the “Center for Entrepreneurial Development”, located in Av. Mar Caribe Norte # 616 (on the corner with Calle Santa Rosalia), where guidance is provided to the entrepreneurs and businessmen on programs available for their benefit, the procedures are initiated and also a specialized training program has been implemented.
