State government and business sector make commitments for the benefit of Ensenada

The State Government and the business sector jointly established a series of commitments by which they will be attending the major projects that are of interest to Ensenada, during a meeting chaired by the Secretary General of Government, Francisco Rueda Gómez and Secretary of Economic Development, Carlo Bonfante Olache with members of the Business Coordinating Council of Ensenada (CCEE).

“The Governor has instructed his cabinet to strengthen the coordination in a comprehensive and harmonious way with the CCEE, to follow up on each of the projects that are being currently developed in Ensenada. He also recognizes the interest of the business group in working as a team, ” declared Francisco Rueda Gomez accompanied by Adrian Olea Mendivil, Coordinator of the business organization.

Meanwhile, Carlo Bonfante Olache said that SEDECO will work immediately to facilitate the necessary coordination to address the issues that represent benefits for the municipality of Ensenada.

The meeting was also attended by State Tourism Secretary Oscar Jesus Escobedo Carignan; State Secretary of Infrastructure and Urban Development, Manuel Guevara Morales; Secretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Matias Arjona Rydalch, the Director of the State Public Service Commission of Ensenada, Arturo Alvarado Gonzalez and the Director of the State Public Service Commission of Tijuana, Alfonso Alvarez Juan. The officials recognized the responsibility and commitment of the state administration with the productive sector of Ensenada.

At the meeting, the business sector’s concerns were heard and commitments were made with the state government, being one of the most important the implementation of a Water Plan, to be implemented in the coming days, in order to provide a definitive solution and have greater volumes of water to supply the citizens of Ensenada.

The issue of reverse flow, was explained in detail to the local businessmen, highlighting the extraordinary contingencies and setbacks that have arisen since the beginning of the operation of this system, that is already sending water from the Colorado River to Ensenada.

“The staff works 24 hours continously monitoring the flow behavior to handle any situation that arises immediately, since it has been detected that in the aqueduct north of the Mission is where the greatest number of adjustments are needed, ” said the Secretary General of Government.

In this issue, it was mentioned that civil works soon will be completed in order to start placing the water pumps that will relieve the aqueduct’s pressure, since it will be operating at 100 percent of its capacity.

Rueda Gómez said that Governor Francisco Vega, has ordered to give special attention to the problems registered in Ensenada, the proof is that some of the high impact projects of the National Development Plan are located in this municipality; and these works bring economic empowerment to the port of Ensenada and better quality of life for its residents.

Among other issues, local enterpreneurs requested the intervention of the state government to properly monitor the ongoing infrastructure projects, specifically those related to tourism, public safety and approval of value added tax (IVA).

The Secretary concluded saying that coordination will be strengthened and communication will be permanent in order to give a timely follow-up to each and every one of the agreements, each secretary will keep constant communication with a representative of CCEE, until every issue is satisfactorily solved.
